Please be advised that the United Way of Denton County is now accepting applications for the new DHA Supportive Services Community Impact Fund. Please submit applications via email to Leah@UnitedWayDenton.org no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 27th (PDF only; do not submit paper copies). An optional (but highly recommended) grant training will be offered on Monday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Way of Denton County office (1314 Teasley Lane, Denton, TX 76205). The Denton Housing Authority has allocated funds for supportive services and programs for the benefit of now-income families in housing or housing related programs in Denton County. These funds allow local programs to provide truly transformational assistance, and help clients overcome barriers and advance economically. These services include but are not limited to the following:
- Job training or certification programs ; assistance with education programs
- Financial coaching and/or credit counseling or other financial services that can support improved credit and increased savings/assets
- Assistance with childcare costs for individuals seeking employment or enrolled in training programs
- Security deposits/application fees and/or direct rental assistance to help families extend current housing (may not exceed 30% of the total amount requested by service providers in grant application)
Priority will be given to applications that include two or more services per client, and that demonstrate thoughtful integration of services into existing agency programming. Service Providers will be required to submit monthly metrics demonstrating a strong emphasis on financial mobility of program participants
Funds may NOT be used for furniture, clothing, or the purchase of a home or vehicle. There are no match requirements for this grant. Up to 5% of funding may be used for indirect (administrative) costs.
